Digital Press Operator – (2nd Shift)

Job Description

The Digital Press Operator is responsible for preparing and processing digital files for print production, ensuring high-quality output for various print projects. This role involves working closely with management and production teams to ensure that all digital files are properly formatted, color-corrected, and ready for printing. Strong technical knowledge of prepress processes, including file management, proofing, and troubleshooting is crucial. This position has a high level of detail-oriented work and requires a meticulous work ethic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:

Application file prep, color management, proofing
Troubleshoot prepress and production issues, ensuring timely resolution to maintain production schedules
Generate customized print templates that are non-traditional
Respond to questions and provide support to others in manufacturing, outside departments, and clients in a professional manner
Make suggestions to improve processes and reduce mistakes
Observe that proper quality control procedures are being followed
Keep the department clean and organized

Required Skills:
Computer literate and able to use Prepress software, MIS system, MS Office applications, E-Mail, and the Internet Experienced in digital print engines Familiarity with file formats, preflight procedures, and proofing standards. Stays current with industry trends and advancements in prepress technology and software. Must have a strong background in math and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent Able to work as part of a team. Solid work history

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

2-3 years of Prepress, and Digital Print production knowledge preferred
Experienced with RIP Software, Adobe Suite products, Illustrator,
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and instructions,
Color calibration and proofing experience (preferred X-rite, and Chroma Checker)
Keep business information confidential.
Self-directed, independent worker.
Tactful, diplomatic, empathetic – Says the right thing, knows how to bridge gaps of understanding, and is sensitive to others.
Above-average math skills.
Basic Microsoft office skills

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKENVIRONMENT:

The employee should possess the ability to:

Willing to work overtime should the workload demand it
Specific vision abilities required by this job
Must have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Extensive walking, lifting & carrying heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs)
Fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and quality standards.
Able to bend and/or twist on regular basis
Ability to move or traverse the facilities.
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
Wear all the required personal protective equipment.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
